On some parts of this site, you might be asked to enter your email address. This data is passed to Aweber, a reputable mailing list operator that runs what's known as a "Double Opt-In" system. They will send an email to the email address you quote asking if you wish to join our newsletter. If you do decide to subscribe, but then change your mind, you can unsubscribe at anytime. You can do this directly with Aweber, or via a link at the bottom of each message we send out. This email address will not be shared with other vendors. However, we may mention other vendors within the context of our newsletter whom we promote on an affiliate basis. It is up to you as to whether or not you visit that vendor. This site also features a "Profile" option which allows other individuals to contact you. It is up to you how much information you reveal about yourself in this optional section. Again, the details you enter will only appear onscreen, and will never be distributed to other online vendors for marketing purposes. The profile section also allows you to send emails to other members, but your true email address is never revealed to the other party. Instead, all communications are sent via a website script that forwards the message to your inbox. For obvious reasons, to enable this email forwarding, we have to store your email address on our server as part of your profile. The "Tell-A-Friend" script also asks for your email address, and the email address of friends you wish to send the message too. However, these details are not retained. As a non-member, you can also make postings to certain forums, add links and articles etc. Some sections invite you to add a name and an email address. These are never compulsory and are always optional. What ever data you enter, you can be assured that it will NOT be used for marketing purposes, and will never be revealed to other vendors - either online or offline. Apart from automated messages sent out by the scripts to acknowledge a particular action, (such as the Welcome message sent when you subscribe, or download details when you purchase goods from the Product Directory) the only time we will contact you is via the newsletter. |
